The last five days have seen me coming down from the 'high' of having my own 'scrap space'.
I like to scrap in peace without folk in the room etc. Maybe selfish of me, I know, but it's just how I work better. The kids have taken to visiting the cbeebies site and, even though we've got 93 million TV channels downstairs, the DH has taken to getting in bed and watching terrestrial TV! So, when he's not sleeping/viewing, the kids are at the desk-"my space"- and I cannot do my scrapbooking.
The other annoying thing is that, whenever I do get a chance to go on the PC-like now, and I'm rushing this!!- I'm constantly interrupted as if I'm still not actually allowed to have the 'me-time' and respect of being left alone!!!
So, what to do? 1) Organise so my time is after the kids in bed but before DH retires.
2) Have things prepared to take downstairs when DH is watching TTV(even though he said he didn't want me scrapping at our gorgeous table....it's got a protective cover on it for goodness sake!!).
3) Get on with it and make a heck of alot of noise whilst scrapping so it puts DH off watching TTV in bed!!!
Hmmmm, I'm tempted to go with 3) and assert myself a little more without feeling guilty for my 'craft'.
Hey ho, all will be well.
Maybe it's a lesson I have to learn-or to teach my family!!-and perhaps because it's Easter? Who knows. Anyway, "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" is another phrase, no? So, I took a pic of the boys dominating my space!!
There's a pic of just the 'space'--to be filled later when stuff is shipped over from UK!!
Anyways, another thing I want to start doing is the 'Studio Friday' http://www.tinesparkles.squarespace.com. It looks like a cool thing to do.
Not sure if I'm brave enough to do the self scrapping that's going on from UKScrappers member, Kirsty. My mug's not that photogenic plus I'm proving to be a bit of a klutz when it comes to 'self-photos'!! The light's wrong, the angles are wrong etc.....never be a Bailey!!
