Yep, so it seems.....
..without harping on, someone has said things to my line manager about my lack of reviews and that I'm always having breaks. It's totally out of context and, to be honest, I'm feeling quite down about it. After all these are supposed adults I work with and secondly, on hearing the criticisms that have been dealt me, alot of the folk I work with alot of the time, say it's complete poppycock!! They're either really good liars or a turncoat is amongst us. We have a collectively fair idea of the dynamics behind the comments made which, in alot of ways, makes it easier to bear. The folks I respect at work are 'on my side'(if it's going to be juvenile then that's how I'll express it!!). In a positive way, the negative commenter has done me a favour and helped me to be assertive in asking people if they feel my work is shoddy, slack, lazy etc.......they have all disputed the criticism. I am my own worst critic. I am well aware and self-aware of my weaknesses and areas for improvement. I just wish the person/people had the same assertiveness and approached me about this directly rather than going along the 'snitching' route. Their negativity, however, has actually backfired on them. Kindness, positive approach, warm, caring, enthusiastic attitudes are now pervading the workplace and a new 'team spirit' of camaraderie and support has developed. Perhaps that's what they wanted.....strange way to achieve it then not actually be a part of it!!! Bizarre!
