'International relations'

......are currently not good in our home!
MIL and DH's DD are visiting from the UK and, as well as the inevitable statements re: 'going back' and missing us etc, we now have to deal with a stand-off between DH & his DD. Not good. She was cheeky to him, bad attitude etc then, although their relationship is often based on banter and repartee, she swore at him calling him what is prob one of the most insulting words one can call anyone, let alone your parent. She claims that he's always calling her etc so feels that it's ok and he is feeling that the female(older) members of the family are all against him so has shunned us with the silent treatment!!! Needless to say, this leads to strained relationships in the household which does not bode well for a happy weekend. Me, I shall just try to engender peacemaking activities but I am not going to be drawn into 'taking sides'. How ridiculous.
think I'll take advantage of the 'silent' house and get into some scrapping this weekend!! Might even go to the SA fair on Sun......though DH & I are invited to a wedding as well that day....starts at 4pm. The Fair starts at 9am.....we'll see.
MIL has been spoiling us; very nice an' all but I feel as if we fall short of the mark somehow in achieving the standards she would require! She is dissapointed in DH not having a job as it leaves us just managing rather than able to splash out a bit more. Our aim is not to be 'splashing' out all the time anyway!!!! Had enough of all that 'keep up with the Joneses' crap in UK. Ah well, half way through. Maybe DH will hear something more definitive about that job? Would be nice to relax a little about money rather than juggling bill/rent/car payments each fortnight/month.
Hey ho, it's all good.
All will be well.
All is well.
Be still.
Peace.
Love.....
......Harmony.
