Wolves. Decs. Scrapping. Ink.

I've not blogged for a while, mainly 'cos of lack of time but also because of the usual lack of time to type for as long -or as short a time- as I want to! I've been all busy-barring and inspite of interruptions and lack of understanding about Scrapping from the family!! Been on the Harry Potter CyberCrop last weekend which was actually really enjoyable and I managed to get 175 points for the team I was on, Ravenclaws. We were last over all but, hey, that didn't matter. It was all good.
I've managed to buy a Notch & Die Tool from an Aussie scrapper so am planning to play with that tomorrow!! Also bought myself some lovely papers; a whole heap of diff ones like KIMemories(probably my most favourite ranges!!!), Scenic Route Paper, Chatterbox, BG, MME Wild Asparagus, some vellum sheets, some KI letters and some L'il Davis stickers. FAB!!!! Just waiting on my Cathy Zielske-The Sequel book so, alongside my 3 SB mags that finally arrived in the local-to-work newsagency on Friday, I am well set up for a month or so to get on with some scrapping again.......the main reason being as well.....tadadadadadadaaaaaaa...................I've finally got some more printer ink!!!!! Waaaaayhaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!! I did manage to buy some last Fri(day of the CC) but the colour ink cartridge of the pair was dry as a bone!!!! Had to fathom my way round that one but, hey, it was OK!! After all scrapbooking was being done way before computers!!!
Now I can print out some of those fab photos of the kids posing last weekend when we put the tree up!!!
Yep, this year we have a tree. Red decs. Train that plays tunes and travels around the round track underneath.........kitschy, tacky but seeeeeeriously cool.
I s'pose 'cos we had very little in the way of decs last year and, despite that the kids didn't moan/mind, we still made it a happy time and this year it's perhaps made us all appreciate that we are indeed blessed and rich in more than just money.
But I still want my own scrapping space!!!!...............

Had a great day today with the kids. Been up to my friend, Emma's house in the Hills. Wonderful. Growing all sorts of things there. We picked a load of cherries which are just gorgeous. Admitted to Emma that I was experiencing a bit of the 'green-eyed monster'(not in a nasty way!!!) but at the same time, like the tree thing, it made me realize just how I seem to be meant to meet people for a reason and that I am blessed with having met nice people here in Aus as well as my friends in the UK. These people seem to then highlight/balance out the people I meet that I don't want the kids to use as role models.........like people at the barbie we were at tonight; swearing in front of their-as well as our- kids(and I'm not just talking a little "oh, damn" type swearing, I'm talking the real, hard-core swear words that can be really offensive!! Listen, I'm not a prude, but I cannot understand the rationale that they are OK with swearing in front of their kids etc but would not want their kids to say those words either to them or to others and would tell them off!!! Contradictory to me. Do as I say, not as I do. Don't understand it. Don't want it. I will also not feel that I am 2nd rate for speaking out and protesting about it. Still at least it gave the people concerned something to talk-and swear!- about repeatedly for the remainder of the time I stayed 'til:" People should expose their kids to the real world from an early age".....Couldn't bear it any longer. Also 'cos DS1 was the only 1 of the 7 children there not to get a lollipop; 'lucky dip' was held for the last 2 children(whaaaaaaaaat!!!!?!); of course there had to be 1 upset unsuccessful child; it happened to be DS1. He thought it was 'cos he didn't eat BBQ sausages(he doesn't like meat)or he'd not behaved himself. Poor little man. Why didn't the kids just not get a lolly? If you don't have enough, don't give any out.

Takes all sorts this world. It's always made me squirm when there is that nasty element to people's comments or behaviour, that 'wolf in sheep's clothing' stuff.
I mean, I've been nasty here but I haven't named, shamed and personalised it; just made general statements as I saw it and how it puts people in an unnecessary awkward 'spot'; no need.
Like the stuff in the scrapping world lately about certain -very talented, committed, amazing, I may add- scrappers being slated on blogs etc............so wrong.
Memo to self: negative doesn't always create the positive!!!
Long-winded blog.
Needed that.
All is well.
