Went to work at the sister team today for my first 'official' day there. Quiet etc and reasonably ok.
I'm shattered though as I now have to leave the house at 7am (but will have to make it earlier as I'd just missed the 7:15 bus!) so got the 7:30 bus, 1/2 hr ride(gave me time to journal-on the bus!-first time ever I've done that. Not so busy at that time so it's possible-aside from the bumpy ride at times!!) V. enjoyable though! Then I have a 10 min walk the other end so, after leaving at 7, I finally get to work at 8:10!! There was no way I was hanging around 'til bloody 1640 tho' so cleared off at 1615!! Well, that is 8 hrs. I know I should do an extra 1/2 hour to make it official but, hey, it's my 1st day of this new routine and I was-still am!- done in. Not physically, that side of things was ok; it's the mental energy I have to use getting used to new people, clients, locations of things etc. Plus the lady I've swapped with was off sick so 'my' clinic was left to agency staff which means there'll be loads of stuff to sort out on Fri p.m when I get back there. Talk about grind you down!! I can't wait for the week off at half-term; yeah, I'll have the kids but it'll be like a reeeeeeeally long weekend!! I'm thinking I may just cancel some days I've booked off in Aug (when the MIL and step-DD come over) and split them seeing as I can't take any more A/L til Jan '07! Sounds like a good idea and will break the time up a bit for me and considering DH will be working too, there's a 6week break to cover child care-wise, though Andy & I will get the usual Public Holidays off then anyway. Time enough to fret about that though, eh?!
Right, off to chill out and do a bit of scrapping. I may even get to sort out some LOs ready for uploading here for the weekend at this rate.......hmmmm, all of about 5!!!! Oh aye, really on a roll here!! (She says, sarcastically!!!) Still, I'm enjoying it.
It makes me happy.
